THE BROOK LAKE

The brook lake is fishing well with some of the big resident carp now being banked including a 35lb mirror and a 31lb mirror being banked over the last month and lots of 20lb+ on a variety of baits from hal pellett, boillie's (peach, bannana, chocolate, tutu frusta, strawberry are just a few flavours that are doing well as well as method feeder and corn fished with pva over pellet. Surface fishing with dog biscuit and bread is very productive although it is hard at this time of year with the wildlife on the lake please take care when surface fishing not to stress the wildlife or anglers by throwing bread or floaters into the flow of another anglers swim as the geese\will go through there rods and line.

PARK LAKE

Fishing maggot is always a must on this lake as this produces a good bag of different fish from silver fish to carp over 12Ib with a mirror of over 20lb resident in this small lake that’s ideal for the young or novice angler out for a day with the family or just for a summers day out. Other baits that are productive are bread, casters, small boillies, sweetcorn (not in tins) luncheon meat (not in tins), worm's, pellet fished almost anywhere on light tackle and on hot days the carp will take dog biscuits and bread off the surface.

MOAT LAKE

The moat lake always does well just how well is the question as big bags of fish are always caught by day ticket anglers and match anglers (check weights from matches in match reports). Fish ranging from 2lb to high teens any bait and light tackle on rod or pole

OSIERS LAKE

Fishing very well with a lot of high 20s banked. They are even being caught off the surface on quiet days with Adam the bailiff caught a few 20 and a 27 off the surface this last month in good weather. More photos have been added to the gallery of recent catches.

Please respect your fellow anglers and keep Newlands tidy. Tight lines, lee...........
